Engraving machines are the key to starting your own engraving business.  Most people can't afford to spend thousands of dollars for a brand new engraving machine, so they start looking for used engraving machines.  Unfortunately, it's very difficult to find used machines that are in good condition.  Often times, when you do find a used engraver, they seller wants to sell the machine for more than you can afford.

Here are a few tips to finding and buying a used engraving machine.

1. Search in big and small cities.  You either live in a small or big city.  Both have advantages and disadvantages.  Big cities have more used engravers, but they also have more buyers looking for those used engraving machines.  Small cities have less engraving machines, but also less buyers.

Whether you're in a small or a big city, contact every engraving company with 100 miles of you and ask if they have any used engraving machines they're looking to sell.  If they don't, ask them how they sell their old engraving machines when they upgrade to new machines.  That will give you another place to look for high quality used engraving machines.

2.  Look online and in trade publications.  Awards & Engraving Magazine is a great place to start your search for used engraving magazine.  In the back of each issue they have a classified area for both buyers and sellers.  Keep your eyes peeled and call potential sellers as soon as possible.  There are thousands of other readers who might buy the machine before you even call!  Craigslist is a great place to look online because it gives you a wide variety of locations.  Keep a look out in your area for anything related to engraving and call asking about used engraving machines.

3. Don't be too picky.  Engraving machines are easy to buy new, but used engraving machines are difficult to find.  If you want a used laser engraving machine, but you can only find used wood engraving machine, consider starting with that machine.  Once you have an engraving machine, you can start your business and expand as you find engraving machines that fit what you're looking for.

4. Don't overpay for your used engraving machine.  An old trick for devaluing anything that you want to buy is to point out the flaws and touch each flaw.  If the used engraving machine you're looking at has a scratch on the front, run your finger along the scratch and ask if it was dropped.  It likely wasn't dropped, and the scratch won't affect it's performance, but that will get the seller thinking about how the engraving machine is really "used".  If the cord looks like it was replaced, touch the cord and ask if the electronics were fried and what other problems it has.  If you can make the price seem steep in the sellers eye, you're more likely to be able to ask for a discount on the price of the used engraving machine for sale.

there are different classes of cars, there are different classes of routers. but regardless of the level you choose, you should look for certain features in any machine. start with ease of use. user-friendliness of both the software and the hardware is a key consideration. sticking with the industry standard gerber s routers are designed exclusively for the sign making industry. its best-selling models are the sabre series 404 and 408. the 404 model is a 4 x 4 machine with a feed rate of 600 inches per minute. the 408 model has the same capabilities with a 4 x 8 table. gerber s anthony says custom engineering and specialized tools differentiate the sabre line from other routers on the market. priced at about $35,000 to $42,000, the sabre models are built with aluminum instead of steel to make a router that is lighter and more rigid. we are in an industry that uses and abuses equipment and they don t spend any time taking care of their capital equipment, says anthony. we use different drives that require less maintenance and offer software, service and support systems for customers. if you are a first time router buyer, having application assistance is important, says koelling. application assistance, not only in terms of learning the software most sign making firms are pretty savvy when it comes to graphic design and so the software isn t usually keep in mind that there are plenty of other companies with similar products at similar prices. and if it s that initial investment that is keeping you from taking the plunge, remember that most companies do have leasing programs to help you get one of these machines in your shop. monthly payments on cnc routers average about $400 the price of one or two sales. the advantages are clear. the equipment is available. whether its worth the risk is up to you.

precautions against laser engraver operation 1. no earth connection permitted during machine working. the earth wire of laser power should be connected to the earth, doors windows or water tube facilities are not allowed to be connected. the earth wire should be connected to the outside ground. 2. please check if the water pump run water or not and if the laser tube is full of water. water run out from the water pump or not enough water in the laser tube is not allowed when machine is working. 3. the water container should be larger to promise the circulating water is around 20kg. the water temperature should be below 25 degree centigrade, the circulating water should be replaced when the water temperature is very high. it is better to use purified water as circulating water, which should be promised clean and replaced every four days. 4. the reflector and focus lamp should be wiped by special camera lens paper or medical cotton buds dipped alcohol and anther. (mixing ratio is 1:1), please keep clean once a week. 5. the blower should be opened when engraving, in case pollute the lens and focus lamp. 6. the laser water tube should be running out in winter, in case the laser tube frost crack. 7. this laser light is invisible light, flammable materials and explosive goods are prohibited to be put nearby the machine, in case the laser deviation result in fire breaking out. 8. the operator leaving is not allowed during machine working, in case unnecessary losses happen. 9. open the machine by laypeople is prohibited, because there are laser and high pressure inside the machine. 10. any irrelevant total reflection or diffuse reflection goods put in the machine are not allowed, in case the laser light is reflected to people or flammable materials. 11. opening machine is prohibited under unstable pressure, or else, voltage regulator should be used. 12. operator not be trained is prohibited to operating the machine. daily maintenance the horizontal type machine light path is complicated, in order to make sure the light can pass through each lens and keep the max laser light power, light adjusting can improve the engraving efficiency. there are following methods to adjust the light path. 1. wipe the lens the reflector and the focus lamp are consumables. if the maintenance is not in time, the dust from engraving will erosion the coating of lens, if the coating of lens broke, the lens cannot reflect the light fully and will be absorbed the heat by engraving, which will impact the engraving effect and lens, broke. the following is the lens maintenance. a) please look into the reflector surface golden film, which should be average color, if have any spots, please wipe softly by the absolute ethyl alcohol cotton buds to clean, if any broke in the golden film, please replace it. b) screwing out the focus lens cap and take out the lens, if any spot on it, please wipe it by absolute ethyl alcohol cotton buds. 2.adjust the light path (1) put the focus lamp on the top left corner, make the forth reflector aperture face to the third reflector, as follows figture1. (2) look into the forth reflector incidence point, the deviation of the incidence point is adjusted through up and down ,left and right screws on the back of the first reflector. (3) put the focus lamp to the top right corner and bottom left corner like figure 2 and 3, the second reflector deviation is adjusted through its own screws on the back of the reflector, the third reflector deviation is adjusted through the screws on the back of the reflector. (4) put the lens to the position 4, bottom right corner, after checking no deviation, the adjustment is done, or else, adjust again by 1,2,3 positions.

The hospitality industry is a several billion dollar industry that mostly depends on the availability of leisure time and disposable income. A hospitality unit such as a restaurant, hotel, or even an amusement park consists of multiple groups such as facility maintenance, direct operations (servers, housekeepers, porters, kitchen workers, bartenders, etc.), management, marketing, and human resources.
