Gaby [ email | url ] @ 8:36 AM Well, thanks imanni, for the answer. And I can't wait til next year it will be soooo much fun.
I was wondering do you put the cotton ball like in the jar and if the bug steps on it it will die in a few hours, or do you put a big cotton ball on the bottom and as the bug goes down it steps in it?

Mr. Amato [ email | url ] @ 8:54 PM Grace - A leaf from a Maple leaf is perfect (Just make sure you get the scientific name... Also there are is a several kinds of maple trees. You have to make sure you label them correctly)

Jun 2 2008
Cricket L. [ email | url ] @ 6:41 PM Mr. Amato, is the t-shirt sizes in youth or regular? I'm not sure what sizes to get.

Jun 5 2008
Gaby G. [ email | url ] @ 9:49 AM hey guys, i have a question and anybody could answer it, i was wondering where i can buy a glass box? like the one in the sequoia room with the bugs in it.
Jun 5 2008
Grace Y [ email | url ] @ 10:59 AM Gaby- you could probably buy it like somewhere at wal-mart or target. There's a bunch of different places. But that is just a guess I don't know.
Sorry if I am no help.
Jun 5 2008
Gaby G. [ email | url ] @ 12:48 PM That's ok Grace i will check those places out. but, do u know anything about the summer reading, if like we just read the book and write it down or do we have to write a summary or something?
And i can't wait til' were in sequoia!!!
Jun 6 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 9:11 AM Just thinking, Gaby, you are probably better off using a plastic lid, because that would be lighter and maybe safer. That's what I'm gonna do.
Jun 7 2008
Mr. Amato [ email | url ] @ 6:17 PM Gaby - You can buy those boxes at Michaels or you can do what Anna said to do... I am very impressed with the new "Trees" you guys are already working.
Jun 7 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 6:22 PM So glad to see so many already starting your bug and leaf projects!!!

Cricket - I take a small in the T-shirts - so maybe that will give you an idea what size you should get...
Mr. Amato usually takes a Large.

PLEASE get your t-shirt money orders in soon - before you know it, it will be the end of June. ALSO if you know of anyone or run into your fellow future classmates that may not have access to the Internet, please let them know to get in their T-shirt money.

Arman: So glad you joined Sequoia too:) You will always be dear to our hearts...continue your excellence!!!

Gagy - you could probably get a glass frame (shadow box) at a Walmart or even Michaels/AC Moore type of store. I have seen them at both places.

Carry on trees...
Jun 7 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 8:37 PM
Jun 7 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 8:38 PM Sorry about just my name appearing, I meant to ask, Do we still have to do the blue book report forms over the summer, and if we do, do the books we put under our sequoia form count for that too?
Jun 8 2008
Amanda H. [ email | url ] @ 12:33 PM I started my bug project and i have this potato bug and it won't die. I had it in a little jar for a week now and it won't die. Does anyone know how to kill it?!
Jun 8 2008
Hannah B. [ email | url ] @ 4:08 PM Put some nail polish remover on a tissue and throw that in there with it. If that doesn't work, check one of those links at the side.
Jun 8 2008
Mr. Amato [ email | url ] @ 9:43 PM Anna - no you do not have to do those blue book report forms... Just the Sequoia one is fine. Just have fun and read a good book that you really enjoying reading. I just went to the book store and bought 4 books to read this summer. :-)
Jun 8 2008
Mr. Amato [ email | url ] @ 9:48 PM Amanda - check out the Link "Great Guide to Killing Bugs found by Evan" Download the guide... In the guide there is a section called "The Killing Jar" check it out. You will find a great way to kill bugs
Jun 8 2008
Grace Y [ email | url ] @ 11:41 PM how can you preserve leaves? I dont want them to ruin! help!
Jun 9 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 7:13 AM Grace, put them on pieces of paper towel and then put the paper towels between really big books, or, if you have them, clamps.
Jun 9 2008
Grace Y [ email | url ] @ 11:54 AM ok thanks anna(:
Jun 10 2008
Drew S. [ email | url ] @ 11:31 AM For everybody who was wondering about books, a good thing about Sequoia is that you dont have to (but you can) read ANY books during the school year other than 3 or 4 books that we read as a class(at least that's how it was last year.)
Jun 10 2008
Cricket L. [ email | url ] @ 3:45 PM I already got all my leaves for my leaf project! My friends and I all went to Louise Moore Park
Jun 10 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 8:09 PM Keep the TSHIRT MONEY coming in. There are still over 30 new trees that need to turn the form and money in...please spread the word.

Jun 10 2008
Grace Y [ email | url ] @ 8:36 PM I'm happy that all the people from last year's sequoia group said it was good, and not one person said they regreted it! I'm soo excited!
Jun 10 2008
Cricket L. [ email | url ] @ 8:38 PM I'm really excited for this year's Sequoia. I agree with Grace, not one person said they dis-liked Sequoia. I can't wait till next year!
Jun 10 2008
Cassie C. [ email | url ] @ 8:39 PM I totally agree with everyone saying they are excited. I can't wait till the first day of school!
Jun 10 2008
Arman S. [ email | url ] @ 8:44 PM Haha, trust me, it's nearly impossible to dislike Sequoia. Sequoia will be like your second family, and Thear and Amato will be like your second parents :)
Jun 10 2008
Cricket L. [ email | url ] @ 8:46 PM Mr. Amato and Miss. Thear, how do you keep the leaves looking fresh and not dieing and crumbly? I don't really know how to explain what I am asking... haha
Jun 10 2008
Grace Y. [ email | url ] @ 8:46 PM I am asking Cricket's question..
Jun 11 2008
Gaby G [ email | url ] @ 10:00 AM I have a question... Do we have to write a summary on the books we read or we just read the books and fill the paper that we got?
Jun 12 2008
Erin W [ email | url ] @ 10:47 PM You don't have to do a summary, just fill out the paper you got and put the titles down thats it... NO BOOK REPORTS!!!!! HAHA
Jun 13 2008
Arman S. [ email | url ] @ 12:12 AM Haha I like how we're helping Ms. Thear and Mr. Amato answer questions.
Jun 13 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 4:01 PM Arman, why were you on the blog at 12:12 AM?
Jun 13 2008
imanni G [ email | url ] @ 8:24 PM OMG MORE DAY TILL MY BDAY IM SO EXCITED
Jun 15 2008
Arman S. [ email | url ] @ 2:45 AM I stayed up late, like I always do during the summer.
Jun 15 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 10:05 AM T-SHIRT MONEY IS DUE SOON...
June 30th is the last chance to hand in forms or money...I will be in school tmorrow and Wednesday before I head outwest.

Cricket: I would suggest keeping the leaves between wax paper in between books...until you are ready to make your project. Some leaves in dry up and may even crumble a bit depending on the leaf. You could possibly put a leaf between "contact" paper - this is at Walmart. This will certainly preserve them and keep them from crumbling but not sure it will go with the project you are choosing to do. Try it, it may work for you.
Jun 15 2008
Grace Y [ email | url ] @ 9:20 PM Anna- I have a question, its totally off topic but what dates are the germany trip? my family needs to know.
Jun 16 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 6:46 AM Grace, the dates aren't completely set yet, but it is probably going to leave a few days after school ends and then go for like 8 or 9 days.
Jun 17 2008
Zach S. [ email | url ] @ 10:36 AM Hey Guys! Started my bug project. I have been putting them in zip-lock bags and then freezing them when they are dead. I've been reading A Week In The Woods. So glad we don't have to do the reports!
Jun 17 2008
Kira H. [ email | url ] @ 11:42 AM Cricket, to keep my leaves fresh i collected them, soaked them in water for like an hour or two and then put them on wax paper, and put them between phone books or a book thats really heavy, then take them out like a week before school and do the project, but have everything ready and stuff so your not waiting to do it last minute, because amato and thear hate that. But if you do it this way, the leaves are so much easier to use, because there flat.
Jun 17 2008
Kira H [ email | url ] @ 11:42 AM and miss thear, ill send you pictures and e-mail you about colorado(:
Jun 17 2008
Autumn R. [ email | url ] @ 8:19 PM hey guys..... just a little tip..... when u guys start school..... start strong....... help eachother and show mr.amato and miss thear (mrs.hood) that u guys r not just another class..... trust me. our class didn't start strong at all...... but towards the end of the school year we realized that we actually could work together as a team..... as one....... as sequoia.......... so strive to be the best...... and i guarantee all of u can prepare for the best year of your life.......
Jun 17 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 8:24 PM Zach, I'm doing the same thing as you are. It works really well. Are you killing them in the zip-lock bags?
Jun 17 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 10:22 PM I am sooo impressed with your start on the projects as well as your positive communication. THANK YOU to our old trees from helping our new trees out...we are all Sequoia!

Jun 18 2008
imanni g [ email | url ] @ 6:39 PM 2day is my bday and im in barbdos im cuming baq 2morrow im having fun
Jun 19 2008
Shannon Y [ email | url ] @ 3:52 PM Hey, guys. Sequoia, year 2, was definitely one of the BEST years of my life. I'm gonna be a sophomore next year, but everything about Sequoia two years ago is still fresh in my mind. From the camping, to the girls and Miss Thear not letting Mr. Amato and Mr. Snellman let the car pass in the pouring rain (yeah, amato, i bet ya remember that one, don't you? =]) and even all the inside jokes. Let me tell you, i defintely didn't work my hardest in that class, and i absolutely regret it. i would do Sequoia over again for two reasons, to live to the potential Amato and Thear always told me i had, and just because it's amazing. I miss them so much, and still consider them my second family. So work hard, and have fun, even though thats what everyone says. Because Sequoia is truly going to be one of the best years of your lives.
<33

ps. Emily H says hi. =]
Jun 19 2008
Brianna Y [ email | url ] @ 3:58 PM wow. shannon misses Sequoia sooooooooooooooooooo much! im guessing it's going to be one of the best years ever. im looking forward to it.
Jun 20 2008

SEQUOIA RULES!!!!!!!!

have fun!!!!!!!Year 4
Jun 21 2008
Emily H. [ email | url ] @ 11:31 AM Brianna it is going to be one of the best years. Even though it was 2 years ago it seems like yesterday. Miss Thear and Mr Amato are amazing and you'll have so much fun with them. You'll meet new people that you thought you would never have talked to before. You'll go on crazy trips that are so much fun but yet some can be challenging, but you'll learn that if you try you can get threw them. Sequoia was amazing and I will never forget it.
Jun 22 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 11:11 AM I have this grey bug in a plastic bag, and it won't die. I know it will have to starve to death sooner or later, but why won't it die inside a small glass jar sooner?
Jun 22 2008
Victor B. [ email | url ] @ 12:00 PM This summer has been great so far... except for the sun burn. I have started collecting leaves, some from the Bahamas!
Jun 22 2008
Cassie C. [ email | url ] @ 6:06 PM just got back from mexico today, would have taken leaves home, but the fam didnt feel like getting taken to mexican jail (: The leaves are almost done! FINALLYYY!
Jun 22 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 7:54 PM Cassie, did you try to take leaves from Mexico into the U.S.? I think the airport doesn't want people smuggling drugs, but i hope you weren't smuggling drugs!
Jun 22 2008
Hannah B. [ email | url ] @ 9:27 PM Now how do you know this Anna?!?! Jk : )
Jun 22 2008
Janice R. [ email | url ] @ 9:40 PM I am so ready for Sequoia !
Jun 23 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 6:18 AM Janice, you're in Sequoia? I thought you didn't make it.
HannaH, I know that because when I was in Copper Canyon ,Mexico, which is so isolated and that makes it great for growing drugs, the guides told me that the Mexican police would search everywhere for drugs, same with coming back into the U.S., we had to prove we weren't smuggling drugs.
Jun 23 2008
Cassie C. [ email | url ] @ 7:38 AM no anna, haha, we didnt smuggle anything, but on all the papers it said you couldnt take plants or animals because they might cause sickness or harm to others? idk, whatever (:
i did bring shell things, i think?
Jun 23 2008
Autumn R. [ email | url ] @ 12:16 PM Hey guys...... just a little tip...... if u want to use any kind of slugs in ur bug project this summer.....DON'T! they smell so bad when they're dead even if u do freeze them! trust me...... i've learned from past experience.......hahahahahaha...... (sequoia year 3)
Jun 23 2008
Grace Y [ email | url ] @ 8:38 PM janice, yeahh you said you didnt make sequoia. why are you saying you are?
Jun 24 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 1:46 PM Hey Guys, just so you know, Lehigh University Campus has so really nice tree leaves to look for. I went there this morning and got 8 leaves. So trees are labeled, others aren't so you might have to look some up. However, they are different trees than the ones at Louise Moore Park, so if you want some different leaves, go to Lehigh.
Jun 24 2008
Zach S [ email | url ] @ 4:53 PM I have collected all of my leaves for my project
Jun 24 2008
Zach S [ email | url ] @ 4:55 PM Anna, Might try lehigh to get some different oleaves for my project
Jun 24 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 6:51 PM Zach, to find interesting trees, park right across the street from the from of Broughal Middle School. You'll have to do some walking, but all the trees are in the general area. The labels are little black plaques. You might have to look up some of the other trees.
Jun 24 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 7:09 PM Hmmm...
Well, I seem to be one of the only people who have not posted yet....
Anway, I have some nice bugs...although they are simple, like a firefly and different types of bees....but I'm working on catching the dragonfly around our pond.
I had a dream of Sequoia the other day...
Jun 25 2008

Jun 26 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 8:08 AM Miss Thear, I've been to Idaho, too. I went whitewater rafting down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. The scenery was amazing. That was our family vacation three years ago. It was one of the coolest trips I've been on!

Phaedra F [ email | url ] @ 10:46 PM you guys in year four are going to love this upcoming year. but you have to realy try to get along with everyone. don't form cliques or groups based on who is "popular" and "cool". honestly, the best people i met this year were the people who didn't always have a lot to say, or they weren't really really popular. they were just people. look beyond appearances. you never know who's on the inside. i learned that this year, along with so many other things.
Jun 29 2008
Marisa C. [ email | url ] @ 8:59 AM hey guys!!!!! i went and got all my leaves now i'm working on finishing my project, and i have just 3 bugs but i hoping to find more wierd ones!!!! see ya later
Jun 29 2008
Arman S. [ email | url ] @ 1:58 PM Phaedra - Yeah, I find that the coolest people I know are those that haven't been labeled "cool" by society.
Jun 29 2008
Gaby G. [ email | url ] @ 4:40 PM Hey guys, i ahve a question, I was wondering where i could get like a lot of bugs, because i can't really find any??? well see ya later

Jun 30 2008
Cassie C. [ email | url ] @ 8:33 AM Gaby- I found alot of bugs by the creek, if you walk the little nature trail thing by the railroad tracks, you might find some bugs. Also check along the creek, this is where I caught my dragonfly

Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 5:41 PM Just so you know, praying mantises are not an endangered species. They are quite beneficial to the garden.
Jun 30 2008
Autumn R. [ email | url ] @ 6:28 PM Hey anna...... about the praying mantis thing....... its illegal to kill them.....i think..... but if u find one thats dead already....... im sure u can use that...... im sure youd get brownie points from amato!
Jun 30 2008
Mariah S. [ email | url ] @ 8:32 PM Thanks Anna and Autum

So that means I cant kill them but if I find one dead I can probably use it?
Jun 30 2008
Mr. Amato [ email | url ] @ 10:09 PM Mariah S - 100% urban legend, which I used to hear all the time when I was a kid. They are not protected or endangered, there is no fine for killing one. However they are natural pest controllers.
Autumn - As always your the best! I think it is great that you are helping

Jul 17 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 8:17 AM I did an experiment and just typed in "Louise Moore Park" on google maps, and it turns out the first response is the Louise Moore Park we are looking fort. Just try "louise moore park" on google maps. It will show you exactly where it is.

By the way, the is only one louise moore park on the planet.
Jul 17 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 11:33 AM Cassie: Yes - you can use a dead praying mantis...

Claire: Sounds like a cool bug - can't wait to see it in person.

Anna: Thanks for helping out with so much. Your knowledge is truly appreciated by all:)

We ordered the T-shirts yesterday - they are going to look very cool. You will have them on the first day of school:) We're exited...

Arman S. [ email | url ] @ 4:40 AM Ms. Thear - What colors are the shirts this year? (God, I need to sleep...)
Jul 19 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 8:11 PM Hey, guys. I recently got back from a 2.5 day, 25 mile backpack trip with my mother. We started on Sunday afternoon, and got absolutely soaked in the rain showers. Everything we had was wet. We hiked all day in wet stuff on Monday, and the trail was a lot longer than we thought. ( Our map got partially washed out in the rain) We did manage to find a nice campsite, but we accidently flipped over our tent in the middle of the night. The next morning, we picked the wild blueberries along the trail, and made the most wonderful breakfast. It had home-made granola, fresh blueberries, and milk that didn't need refrigeration. We were so tired by the time we got back to our car, but we went to a local Pizza Parlor and got some really good pizza! I hope our Sequoia camp outs are this much fun.
Jul 21 2008
Zach S. [ email | url ] @ 10:40 AM Miss Thear and Mr. Amato just wondering, you have the school supply list from last year on the site should we use that or are you going to give us a new one?
Jul 22 2008
Marisa C. [ email | url ] @ 5:37 PM hey guy's school is almost here!!!!!
i have so many gross bugs i don't even want to touch them to put them on my project
Jul 23 2008
Paige [ email | url ] @ 12:33 AM I didn't order my shirt !!!
I forgot to so what do I do?
I was on vacation part of the time we were supposed to hand it in.. then I totally forgot !!!!!!!!!
Jul 23 2008
Cassie C. [ email | url ] @ 10:52 AM Do our tags for the leaves need to be typed?
Or can I write out the tags/labels?
Jul 23 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 5:38 PM Zach...the supply list that is posted is the one to use for this school year. The glue, markers, colored pencils get some for yourself - keep them in like a pencil pouch thing or even in your locker - we do you all three ALOT. Three ring binders for all classes as well as the two composition books (one for current events and the other for writing).

Cassie - typing the tags would probably be better but if you have VERY neat printing that's also an option:)

Paige...anyone who did not get thier shirt order form in on time - a long-sleeve shirt was ordered for you. You will owe $13.00 if you want your shirt on the first day of school. Very few extras were ordered but if there are any and you want another short sleeve, then you can buy one then. Sorry - but we can't wait for those who did not turn in theirs in by the dead line.

Anna...wow - sounds cool - where actually did you go camping??? Is it part of the Appalachain Train? You will be a pro by the time we go in October! I love blueberries in fact I just went to pick some last week...kills my back:( but boy is it worth it!
Jul 23 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 5:58 PM We went camping on the Pinchot Trail in Lackawanna State Forest. We saw no other people on the trail the entire time. It was amazing
Jul 27 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 11:00 AM I am currently on my very exciting adventure of researching the names of the bugs I have so far. Two of them are...Tibicen linnei, an annual cicada (cant remember) and an annual or periodical (I think annual...) cicada nymph. I was wondering if I could use both, as two seperate insects?
Oh yeah. I can't seem to find some type of mosquito that my dad's friend found while we were at their beach house in Maryland. It is orange-ish, with three black stripes on the thorax, and fuzzy, black feet. It is kinda big. Anybody know? ^_^
Hmmm...also, any suggestions for researching names? The internet is not working for me...
Jul 27 2008
Bailey H. (again) [ email | url ] @ 11:05 AM Tibicen spp. The dog day cicada. I am pretty sure the nymph I have is of that one. If I can use it, I am wondering what the 'spp.' means. I can't seem to find the longer version (if there is one.) Is it okay to just use the short version, 'spp.'?
Jul 27 2008
marisa c. [ email | url ] @ 3:17 PM Mr.Amato or Miss Thear, I went school shopping and I got everything but i was just wondering if we needed to get book socks for our books because it was not included in the list?
~thanks~
Jul 28 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 11:34 AM Marissa - you do need to cover your books - anyway you want is your choice:)

Bailey - go ahead and use both. If you are stuck on the ssp. and have checked it out - just use that as part of your label. Keep up the great work!!! Looking forward to seeing your project.
Jul 28 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 1:42 PM Thanks, Miss Thear! I'm almost finished with the bug project. My mom and I came up with the best way to present it. Can't wait!
Jul 28 2008
Mariah [ email | url ] @ 2:40 PM How many book covers will we need?
Jul 28 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 2:59 PM I forget....this is probably a very unnessessary question, but: Did we have to read books from only the suggested reading? I already finished all seven books I need, and not one of them is from suggested reading. ^^ I'll probably read Watership down sometime, though. <3 bunnies.
Also, can you read more than seven books? I'm almost finished with my 8th, and I am going to the bookstore tonight to get more. Summer has sizzled my brain down to nothing, and I am having a hard time remembering stuff. =D
Jul 28 2008
marisa c [ email | url ] @ 6:17 PM thanks miss thear. do you know ahead of time how many will be needed?
Jul 30 2008
marisac [ email | url ] @ 11:23 AM me and mariah are doing our bug project and the website that is on the bolg already only has 1 or 2 of the bugs we have and 2 or 3 of the bugs we searched we can't find. so does anyone know a good website for us to use?
Jul 30 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 12:17 PM Oh....my....gosh.
I am blind. So totally blind.
And, being blind, I had never seen that website...
instead I spent hours on google, trying to find out which bug I have.
By the way, Wikipedia is not the best helper when it comes to bug species. (just needed to let you know.)
I usually type something in the search bar like...'types of cicadas' or 'types of mosquitoes.' Sometimes, though, google image helps. Like, 'white moth with black spots' I searched that, got the picture of the bug I had, looked on the website and found what bug it was.
Jul 30 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 10:15 PM Marissa - You will need 3 book covers.
Jul 30 2008
MARISA C. [ email | url ] @ 10:41 PM thanks miss thear i will go and get those. And if you go to the libary and ask them where you can get books on bugs they had so many i took out 4 books and they are so helpful. just to let you know!!!!!!!
Jul 31 2008
Hannah B. [ email | url ] @ 12:59 PM I have a question. Can we use pill bugs on our project?
Jul 31 2008
Miss Thear [ email | url ] @ 9:12 PM Hannah - If you are desperate for a last bug:)

Marissa - sounds good - way to work hard!

Aug 4 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 4:35 PM Yeah...band. Whoopie....hoo-rah....sigh...

Well, at least Mr. Zettlemoyer seems nice.

Mosquito update: I have officially given up on my mystery mosquito. I'll probably bring it in the first day of school so that Miss Thear and Mr. Amado can have a shot at naming it.
Aug 4 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 4:51 PM Are you sure your insect is a mosquito?
Aug 4 2008
Victor B. [ email | url ] @ 4:54 PM Mr.Amato, if I read a book over 290 pages will it count as two books?
Aug 4 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 7:29 PM Pretty sure. It looks like one. It has the humped thorax, the long, slender abdomen. Two wings. Long legs. Big, black eyes.
I used many, many different sites, but in vain. Nothing ever came up even close to what mine looked like.

Hmmm...along with Victor's question: What about books over 400 pages? Almost all of my books are like that...probably 6/8 that I have read are over 400 pages.
Aug 4 2008
Lauren M. [ email | url ] @ 7:59 PM Wow. this is like the first time i left a comment and it is almost time for school! Anyway... i just noticed that on a lot of my bugs the antennas are sorta squished or bent..will that be a problem?
Aug 5 2008
Bailey H. [ email | url ] @ 2:12 PM http://wolves-of-fantasy.deviantart.com/gallery/

Alright. Go there to see my art...and pictures. Deviantart is a site where people show their art and photography and writings.
Aug 5 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 4:57 PM My mother just caught the coolest bug any of you people will ever see. It is an Assassin Bug -- one of the LARGEST true bugs in the WORLD! After she caught it, we learned of it's deadly bite and 3/8" dagger of a proboscis. We also learned that a nibble from this *true* bug hurts more than 10 wasp stings and can take up to 6 months to heal. Bug collecting, anyone?
Aug 5 2008
Gaby G. [ email | url ] @ 6:43 PM Hey guys just wondering where can i find where the school supply list is, cause i cant find it????

Aug 6 2008
Anna S. [ email | url ] @ 5:11 PM I kept my leaves pressed for a good 2 months before using them for my project.
Aug 6 2008
Hannah B. [ email | url ] @ 5:47 PM Anna- You always come upon the most deadly things dont you! Like when you heard about ebola, the most deadly and disgusting thing anybody has ever heard of. Cant wait to see that weird bug. Cant wait to see you again 2!
Bailey- Ur drawings are perfect as usual. You sure have talent! Even though I just saw you 4 hours ago, it feels like I havent seen you in ages!
Claire- It only takes a few days for them to be usable but it just depends on when you are doing your project!

By the way, can we use pine needles as leaves. i wasnt to sure but I got them anyway!
Thanx
